Upcoming 10-core Intel Alder Lake laptop CPU benchmarked

We're still a little while away from the launch of Intel 12th Gen Core mobile processors, but benchmarks are beginning to pop up. This time around, we have some early performance numbers for the Core i7-12650H, which will be a 10-core CPU destined for new gaming laptops in 2022.

According to the Intel Core i7-12650H entry found on Geekbench by @Benchleaks, this processor will come with 10x cores, from which 6x are P-cores and 4x are E-cores. In the Core i5-12500H's case, the processor should come with 4x P-cores and 8x E-cores. Despite the difference in the number of cores, both will come with 16x threads. Comparing the specifications of both processors, the i7 should still outperform the i5 processor, even if it has fewer cores.

The Geekbench 5 entry was created using an undisclosed Lenovo system with 12GB of RAM. Unfortunately, the score refers to GPU performance, presumably a Xe-LP iGPU with 64 EUs. Scoring 13,894 in the OpenCL test, this GPU should offer the same level of performance as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 760/MX 350 or the AMD Radeon RX 550.

Like the remaining 12th Gen Core mobile CPU line-up, the Core i7-12650H should be announced during CES 2022.
