Many Intel 12th Gen Core processor owners have found multiple issues when trying to play certain games protected by DRM services due to the new E-Cores they feature. These cores may lead the DRM software to trigger incorrectly, as it recognises them as a separate system, even if it's not. To help tackle this issue, Gigabyte has now released a DRM Fix tool.
Using Gigabyte's tool, users can easily switch the E-cores on and off, avoiding issues when opening certain DRM-protected games on an Intel 12th Gen Core processor. Unlike other workarounds, like editing the BIOS settings, using a PS/2 keyboard connection and even pressing a dedicated button on the chassis or keyboard, Gigabyte's tool seems to be more user-friendly.
This tool only works on systems using select motherboards with the latest BIOS installed. Here's a list of the latest BIOS version of each Gigabyte Z690 motherboard currently available:
