Intel reportedly rolls out 14th Gen Core KE processors without E-Cores

A leak has surfaced regarding Intel's future plans for the LGA-1700 socket, shedding light on the new Bartlett Lake series of desktop CPUs. This product is set to feature the Alder Lake/Raptor Lake hybrid die with P-Cores and E-Cores, along with a new die featuring P-Cores exclusively. However, it seems Intel already has a new series of 14th Gen Core CPUs with P-cores only.

Intel has unveiled the specifications for an unannounced series of CPUs in the 14th Generation Core series through its official website (via Jaykhin). The models' names mirror those of the current SKUs, with the addition of “1” at the end. Comprising three Core i9, two Core i7, and four Core i5 SKUs, these new models are expected to be part of the Raptor Lake portfolio.

According to Intel, these new SKUs are for embedded systems and not targeted at consumers, so don't expect to find them for sale at a local retailer or DIY PC store. Still, the KE variants feature a 125W TDP, the same as the Core K(F).

Taking the i9-14901KE SKU as an example, it has a base clock that surpasses the i9-14900K(F) by over 600MHz, pushing it to 3.8GHz. However, it features a lower boost frequency of 5.8GHz instead of the 6.0GHz of the other Core i9 K-series CPUs. Additionally, there are F-variants without an iGPU, non-K variants with lower clock speeds than their “K” counterparts, and T-models with a 45W TDP (consumer versions have a 35W TDP).

KitGuru says: Right when many thought the LGA1700 platform was done, we started hearing about new CPUs coming out for it. It looks like this platform will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future.
