The 2021 Game Awards is just one week away, and ahead of the ceremony/game showcase, the event’s official Twitter page has been teasing some of the announcements. It has now been confirmed that the much-anticipated story-driven action adventure game ‘The Lord of the Rings: Gollum' will be shown off at The Game Awards.
Teasing the trailer on Twitter, the official Game Awards account said “Something’s lurking in the shadows…Tune-in to #TheGameAwards on December 9! #LordOfTheRings @GollumGame #GollumGame” confirming that Gollum will find his way to The Game Awards.
Alongside this, they released a short clip from what appears to be a longer trailer, showcasing the titular Gollum sneaking up behind an enemy and pouncing on them.
While not too much is known about the game currently, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is said to be a stealth-action title, and so what little was shown in this teaster does align nicely with this notion.
With so little of the game being shown so far, hopefully the upcoming trailer showcases extensive gameplay as well as cinematics. Additionally, with the game previously intended to release in 2021 – before being pushed back to next year – hopefully we get a more concrete release date at the upcoming showcase.
