It seems that AMD and Intel aren't the only ones preparing to launch new laptop processors. According to a recent report, Huawei is also developing new Kirin processors to power its new laptops.
According to MyDrivers (via Tom's Hardware), Huawei will use a 5nm-based Kirin processor in the company's upcoming Dyna Cloud laptop, to be released next year. The Kirin 9006C processor is said to feature 8x ARM cores that clock up to 3.13GHz. Moreover, the SoC will pack a Kirin 9000C GPU.
In the leaked spec sheets above, we see that the laptop will pack 8GB of LPDDR5 memory and 256/512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The laptop will also come with a 14-inch display, featuring 2160×1440 resolution (3:2 aspect ratio), support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 4.2 and a 56WHr battery charged via USB-C. For connectivity, the laptop has an HDMI port, 2x USB-A ports, a USB-C port (charging) and a GbE mini RJ-45 port.
The laptop will start shipping in 2022 with two domestic operating systems in China: Unity OS and the new Kylin OS.
KitGuru says: We're unlikely to see this hardware outside of China, but its still interesting to see other companies around the world developing their own ARM-based processors for laptops and computers, rather than just smartphones.
