Star Wars Eclipse features ‘an intricately branching’ story set during the golden age of Jedi

Earlier this year, Quantic Dream revealed that it is now working on a Star Wars game as its next major project and now, that game has officially been revealed. Star Wars Eclipse has now been officially announced, set in the new ‘High Republic' era and promising plenty of lightsaber action.

A month or so ago, leakers revealed that the game would be called Star Wars Eclipse, and would be set in the High Republic era in the Star Wars timeline. Last night during The Game Awards, this was all confirmed, and we got a new cinematic trailer for the game:

Star Wars Eclipse will be “an intricately branching action-adventure game that can be experienced in many different ways”, staying true to Quantic Dreams roots. All of the studios previous games have offered a ton of different story choices and outcomes, and it sounds like we can expect the same thing here.

The trailer itself gives us a small look at what to expect, including a diverse range of alien races, different planets and of course, Jedi Knights. The game is still in “early stages of development”, so it could be a while before we see gameplay, or get a release date.

KitGuru Says: If done well, this could be one of the best Star Wars games we've had in a very long time. We know Quantic Dream can do story and cinematic moments well, now we've just got to see if it can blend proper action combat into the mix.
