Batman Arkham Collection could be coming to Switch

The Batman Arkham games developed by Rocksteady were some of the most well-regarded games in the superhero genre when they were released between 2009 and 2015. Ahead of the next Arkham game, WB Montreal’s Gotham Knights, the original Batman trilogy could be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Currently, the Nintendo Switch is lacking any major Batman games (aside from Telltale’s and TT Games’ efforts) and with neither of the upcoming Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights games coming to Switch, the handheld hybrid is lacking in the DC Games department.

This may not be for long, as a French retail site has listed ‘Batman Arkham Collection' for the Nintendo Switch. At a price of €59.99, the collection isn't cheap, but may include three of Batman’s best outings.

If this collection adheres to the same naming conventions as the Batman collection created for the PS4/XONE/PC, then Switch owners can expect to play Batman Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight.

While both Arkham Asylum and City were originally developed for 7th-gen hardware (PS3/X360) Arkham Knight was exclusive to the then-next-gen systems (PS4/XONE) and so it will be interesting to see how the game is translated for the Switch’s lower-powered hardware.

The final question that remains is whether the black sheep of the Arkham family is also ported. Arkham Origins was developed by WB Montreal for the PS3/X360. Unlike the other Batman games however, Origins was never remastered for newer hardware and was not included in the original Arkham Collection. It will be interesting to see whether Origins finds its way onto the Switch.
