Kojima teases Death Stranding 2 ahead of Gamescom

Hideo Kojima and Geoff Keighley have had a strong relationship for many years, with the video game creator making an appearance at most of Keighley’s various industry showcases. With Gamescom the Opening Night Live Showcase mere hours away, Kojima appears to be teasing a new trailer for Death Stranding 2.

Taking to Twitter, Kojima posted a cryptic image of a silhouetted character alongside the caption “WHO AM I?” – with a logo clearly indicating that this relates to Death Stranding 2.

As mentioned, with Opening Night Live set to begin later today at 7PM UK time, it is highly probable that we will be getting a new DS2 trailer featuring this mysterious character.

So far, just some of the new faces being introduced in the sequel include Elle Fanning; Shioli Kutsuna; Director Fatih Akin and the legendary George Miller of Mad Max fame. Of course, the sequel will also see the likes of Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux and Troy Baker return to reprise their roles.

Eagle-eyed fans have seemed to figure out who this mysterious new character is, with the consensus being that it is Kenjiro Tsuda – a Japanese actor, voice actor, and film director with an incredibly lengthy list of roles and achievements.

As a voice actor, Tsuda has played the likes of Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh; Hannes in Attack on Titan; Overhaul in My Hero Academia – and dozens if not hundreds of other roles. Perhaps most interestingly, Kenjiro Tsuda already featured in the first Death Stranding, voicing the Japanese dub for protagonist Sam Porter Bridges.

Clearly, based on the teaser, his role in the sequel will include his likeness, and so it is unknown whether he will also return to voice Sam. Regardless, hopefully this teaser is indicating that we’ll be getting a brand new trailer very soon.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the teaser? Do you agree with the prediction? Will we get a DS2 trailer at ONL? Let us know down below.
