Skull & Bones was touted by Ubisoft as being a AAAA experience, marking the first game to have released with such a moniker. Of course, we now know that this was far from the case, with sentiment surrounding the game being less-than-stellar. While the game failed to grab an audience on Ubisoft’s own store or the Epic Games Store, Skull & Bones will be getting a second chance when it comes to Steam next month.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Skull & Bones page shared the following: “Setting sail with #SkullandBones on Steam this August 22! Get ready to navigate the ruthless high seas, engage in brutal naval battles, and build your own empire. Wishlist Now!”
As has been the case for many years now, Ubisoft does not bring its games to Steam day-and-date due to an ongoing deal with the Epic Games Store. That said, the titles do eventually find their way onto Steam, and so this move isn’t out of the ordinary.
Even so, it’ll be interesting to see what the concurrent user count looks like once Skull & Bones has dropped onto Steam.
