There are times when it is made clear that the unfortunate side of business allows for some people to have their cake and eat it too. Activion’s CEO Bobby Kotick is one such man, as it has now been reported that he will receive $375 Million as part of the recent Microsoft acquisition.
In a new report by Bloomberg, it has been claimed that Activision Blizzard’s CEO Bobby Kotick will be receiving around $375 Million as part the recent sale to Microsoft, with Bloomberg reporting “That's the amount the video-game executive stands to receive before taxes when Microsoft Corp. completes its $68.7 billion deal to buy Activision.”
With an estimated net worth of $7 Billion, Bobby Kotick isn’t hurting for money. It is disappointing to see the many issues surrounding Activision Blizzard, all of which occurred under his reign and knowledge, have done little in the way to prevent Bobby Kotick from having a clean and clear cut from any consequences.
Still, at the end of the day, that is business, and Kotick did manage to take Activision from a near-bankrupt company, to one worth $68.7 Billion, so it makes sense.
Furthermore, his eventual removal from all duties as CEO once the acquisition is completed means that hopefully Activion Blizzard employees can enjoy a more healthy workplace. That is the hope, at least.
