Though its launch back in 2019 saw some controversy and mild success, Death Stranding has continued to see support from new and old fans alike – as well as developer KojiPro. With the enhanced edition’s PS5 exclusivity window nearing its end, the Death Stranding Director’s Cut’s PC release date has now been announced.
Making the announcement, Antonela Pounder, the Director of Global Community at 505 Games said “Earlier this month, we communicated Spring 2022 as our release window. Today we're thrilled to announce that DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT will launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 30th, 2022.”
Purchasing this Director’s Cut outright will cost £34.99. Alternatively, those who nabbed the original release on either the Epic Games Store or Steam can upgrade to the new Director’s Cut for a fee of $10 – which isn’t too shabby considering the breadth of added content.
Currently, ahead of the Director’s Cut’s release, the base Death Stranding has gone on sale, meaning you could nab a copy of the original game for as low as £10 (with only a further £10 then to upgrade).
It’s good to see Death Stranding get a PC release just 6 months after the PS5 version. What’s more, a simultaneous release across Epic Games and Steam is also pleasant to see. We have previously written a column discussing the many great things about Death Stranding, and so with the Director’s Cut set to release soon, now is as good a time as any to give the game a try.
