Yesterday following a preview leak, we learned some new details about Tango Gameworks' upcoming PS5 exclusive, Ghostwire: Tokyo, including a March 24th release date. As it turns out, that release date was a little off, as today Sony has confirmed the game will be releasing on the 25th of March.
Several hours after the leak, Sony confirmed that Ghostwire: Tokyo will be coming to PS5 on the 25th of March, following a small delay that pushed the game out of 2021. The game is also planned to come to PC, but Sony's announcement makes no mention of a PC release date, but like Deathloop, we would expect a PC launch at the same time as console.
With Ghostwire: Tokyo less than two months away, Sony will be hosting a gameplay showcase to give us a good look at the game in action. That showcase will be airing late this evening for those of us in the UK, beginning at 10 PM. There will be another State of Play stream this week focusing on Gran Turismo 7, another PS5 exclusive due to release this year.
Ghostwire: Tokyo is an interesting case, as it is one of two timed console exclusives Sony signed with Bethesda prior to Bethesda joining Microsoft. Once the timed exclusivity period runs out, we should see Ghostwire: Tokyo on Xbox consoles, as well as Game Pass.
KitGuru Says: While Ghostwire: Tokyo has an official release date of March 25th, the Deluxe Edition of the game does include three days of early access, so those picking up the more expensive edition can jump in from the 22nd of March.
