Chernobylite is an interesting first-person survival thriller developed by The Farm51. We reviewed the game back during its initial console release in September 2021. Now, finally, the game’s next-gen release date has been revealed.
Making the announcement on their blog, the Chernobylite publishers ‘All in! Games' said “The highly anticipated next-gen console version of Chernobylite will be released on April 21. Additionally, the date marks the release of the PC Enhanced Edition, the Blue Flames DLC, and a physical edition of Chernobylite for PS5.”
Quite excitingly, the team revealed that “The upgrade to the next-gen version of Chernobylite and the PC Enhanced Edition will be available for owners of the game through a free update,” as well as the fact that “Both updates will introduce ray tracing and will greatly improve the game’s already hyper-realistic visuals.”
The game’s next-gen release will feature two modes: 4K (Dynamic) 30 FPS and 1080p (Ultra Details) 60 FPS. The PS5 version specifically will also take advantage of the console’s unique features such as advanced vibrations and adaptive triggers, alongside compatibility with PlayStation’s Activity Card feature.
All in all, the update sounds like a solid one, and launching alongside DLC is truly welcome. It will be most interesting to see how the game looks running on a high-end PC following this update – especially as the game was already quite a looker.
