AMD Radeon RX 6950XT graphics card may have a 2.5GHz boost clock

Recently, rumours have been swirling around a high-end GPU refresh from AMD, currently known as the RX 6950XT. Following on from early reports about the GPU this month, leakers have begun sharing expected specifications, including 350W power draw and a massive 2.5GHz boost clock speed.

According to known leaker Greymon55, the upcoming Radeon RX 6950 XT card will boost over 2.5GHz, just like the various Radeon RX 6900 XT cards featuring the Navi 21 XTXH GPU. As for the Radeon RX 6900 XT cards, none of them has a rated boost clock of over 2.5GHz, but many owners claimed they could boost beyond their specifications, hitting around 2.6GHz out-of-the-box settings in some cases.

In a separate comment, Greymon55 also said that he expects the graphics card will have a TBP of 350W, a 20W uplift from the other Radeon RX 6900 XT cards using Navi 21 XTXH. However, compared with the standard Radeon RX 6900 XT cards, it will consume 50W more.

As per the latest rumours, the Radeon RX 6950 XT graphics card is expected to launch in April.

KitGuru says: Considering the rumours we've heard so far, do you think the Radeon RX 6950XT will be worth getting instead of a standard RX 6900XT?
