Cyberpunk 2077 gets 5-hour free trial on next-gen consoles

In case you missed it earlier, today Cyberpunk 2077 finally launched for new-gen consoles, bringing enhancements and optimisations to the game on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles. Given the original console launch for this game, some may be apprehensive about picking it up even now, but the good news is you can play the first five hours of the game right now for free.

Starting today and running until the 15th of March, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 console owners can download a free trial of Cyberpunk 2077. This is a timed trial, so while you have access to the full game, you can only explore for a total of five hours. Once your time runs out, you'll have to buy the game to continue playing.

This trial comes alongside Patch 1.5, which includes several revamps to gameplay, additional RPG elements and DLCs, another round of bug fixes and more. On consoles, the patch can be up to 68GB, so it is a substantial update.

On Xbox Series X and PS5, players can expect a 4K/60FPS performance mode, as well as a 4K/30FPS quality mode with ray-traced shadows activated. The Xbox Series S unfortunately does not come with graphical options, and is limited to 1440p/30FPS gameplay.
