Bungie warns of log-in queues ahead of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen launch

Destiny 2 is set to enter a new era later tonight with the launch of The Witch Queen expansion, but as with any major online game launch, there are going to be a lot of players trying to play on day-one. With that in mind, Bungie has already forewarned of difficulties logging in this evening.

At the time of writing, The Witch Queen is one hour away from launch, with servers opening up at 6PM GMT. So far, over a million players have pre-ordered The Witch Queen expansion, so expect some issues getting into the game this evening if you're trying to play as soon as the servers go live.

Destiny community manager, Dylan Gafner, explained this a bit further. While Bungie has stress tested the servers, a million players all potentially trying to log in at the same time is bound to cause some issues.

The Witch Queen is the next major expansion for Destiny 2 and acts as the second entry in a trilogy of expansions exploring the rise and fall of Savathûn and finally putting Guardians up against ‘The Darkness', an enemy that has been teased since the earliest days of Destiny.
