Early benchmarks show RTX 2050 outperforming GTX 1650 by 23%

Previously, Nvidia announced plans to release an RTX 2050 GPU for entry-level gaming laptops in early 2022. The first laptops sporting this GPU are expected to launch in the Spring, but it sems some reviewers in China have already got their hands on early RTX 2050 laptops, giving us a first look at GPU performance benchmarks. 

The review shared by ITHome (via VideoCardz) shows a Revolution Unbounded 16 Pro notebook (machine translated name), equipped with an Intel i7-12700H processor and an RTX 2050 laptop GPU. For comparison purposes, the reviewer used an Nvidia MX450 and the GTX 1650 laptop GPU in 3DMark Fire Strike and the Intel Iris Xe 96EUs iGPU on a video encoding benchmark.

Comparing the 3DMark Fire Strike graphics score alone (to avoid CPU and memory differences), the RTX 2050 scored 9879 points, making it about 23% faster than the GTX 1650 and 134% faster than the MX450. As for the video encoding results, the RTX 2050 was faster than the Iris Xe iGPU across all tests, with the difference in performance being more noticeable as the resolution increased.

The laptop used for this review will reportedly be available in early March, meaning the first RTX 2050-powered devices may release a few weeks earlier than expected.
