AMD may have four new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs launching soon

Rumours say that the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D should be launched later this month, but a more recent report suggests it's not the only new Ryzen CPU releasing in March. As it seems, AMD will launch three other Ryzen 5000 series processors – the Ryzen 5 5500, the Ryzen 5 5600 and the Ryzen 7 5700X.

As per MEGAsizeGPU, the Ryzen 5 5500 will be a 6C/6T processor releasing at the same price as an Intel i3-12100 (£135). As we see it, this AMD CPU could be a suitable solution for those looking for more than 4x cores on a tighter budget and don't intend to use PCIe 5.0 or DDR5 memory.

Moving on to the Ryzen 5 5600, this 6C/12T CPU is said to be cheaper than the Core i5-12400 (£190), so it could cost about the same as the i5-12400F (£170). Comparing the AMD processor with the Intel counterparts, the red team solution may offer superior multi-core performance thanks to SMT (Hyper-threading).

Lastly, we have the Ryzen 7 5700X, which is said to undercut the Intel Core i5-12600KF, which currently sells for around £260.

AMD has only announced the Ryzen 7 5800X3D so far and has not revealed plans for additional Ryzen 5000 series SKUs. If these rumours prove true, then we'll get more information over the next few weeks.

KitGuru says: Considering their specifications, the release of these processors looks to be a direct response to Intel Alder Lake. Do you think AMD's new Ryzen processors can be a worthwhile alternative to Intel 12th Gen at their respective price points?
