Dead Space remake targeting ‘early 2023’ release

Last year, EA surprised us all with the announcement of Dead Space Remake. While the game was initially targeting a late 2022 release, new reports claim that the game has shifted to early 2023.

The original Dead Space and its two sequels were developed by Visceral Games, although the studio was eventually shut down as EA executives began to lose interest in single-player, story-driven games. Since the release of Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in 2019, EA has changed its mind on single-player games again, leading to releases like Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and of course, the revival of Dead Space.

According to sources speaking with VentureBeat, the development team has shifted its release window from October 2022 to ‘early 2023', so the game may now be releasing in February or March next year.

EA Motive revealed a few details about the remake in a livestream last year, revealing that the game is built on the Frostbite engine and will release for PC and next-generation consoles. The game itself will be a complete rebuild of the original game, with a few quality of life changes to improve gameplay and possibly restored cut content.
