Ubisoft reportedly working on new Ori-inspired Prince of Persia game

With Ubisoft finally looking to revive the Prince of Persia IP with a remake for Sands of Time, many fans have been hoping that Ubisoft will also have other new games lined up. As it turns out, Ubisoft does have at least one other Prince of Persia game in the works, but it won't be a 3D-action game like the original trilogy.

According to Tom Henderson, a known leaker with a decent track record, Ubisoft is working on a new 2.5D Prince of Persia title alongside the upcoming Sands of Time remake. From the sounds of it, this will be a puzzle platformer with combat elements, taking inspiration from the Ori series from Moon Studios.

The project is reportedly being worked on at Ubisoft's Montpellier studio, along with Ubisoft's usual support teams. This new Prince of Persia title should be announced soon, as Ubisoft is said to be planning a ‘massive' games showcase for the Summer.

The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is currently still being worked on, but it might not release until 2023. Apparently, this unannounced 2.5D title could release prior to the remake, despite the remake being announced two years ago at this point.
