AMD RDNA 2 refreshed GPUs may replace existing Radeon RX 6000 models

At this point, we know quite a bit about AMD's upcoming refreshed RX 6000 series GPUs, including specs. It has been assumed that these new GPUs would be sold alongside existing models, but according to new reports, that may not be the case.

The news comes from Hassan Mujtaba (via VideoCardz), who states that AIB partners will focus on RX 6650XT, RX 6750XT and RX 6950XT cards. Consequently, they will stop manufacturing RX 6600XT, RX 6700XT and RX 6900XT GPUs.

Considering the availability of the current Radeon RX 6000 series line-up is high, it should take a while before AMD can completely replace these cards with the newer ones. However, maybe this situation will force some vendors to offer good deals to sell the cards quickly, as they may be discontinued.

If the refreshed SKUs replace the existing Radeon RX 6000 series cards, one can only expect they will be priced similarly. For now, listings of these cards on retailers have ridiculous prices, but these will likely be replaced when the cards officially launch. Current rumours point to a May 10th launch for these new GPUs.

KitGuru says: Considering how similar the exiting Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs look to the refreshed models, it's not that surprising to see the older cards will be replaced. Compared to the older cards, the only benefit the new ones bring is faster VRAM, which shouldn't offer any significant performance gains.
