Fatshark has had great success in recent years with Vermintide 1 & 2, both based on the Warhammer fantasy universe. For the last couple of years, the studio has been turning its attention towards the Warhammer 40,000 universe with Darktide. Following a reveal in 2020 and a delay in 2021, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide finally has a release date and a new trailer.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide was announced for PC and Xbox Series X/S back in 2020 – it was also announced as a major day-one release for Xbox Game Pass. Now after a couple of delays, the game finally has a 13th of September release date:
Following last year's delay, we were expecting a Spring 2022 launch window, so it appears that the delay was extended at some point. Darktide will now land right in the middle of Autumn.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a 4-player co-op action game set in the hive city of Tertium. Expect gameplay similar to Vermintide, but with new enemies, weapons, maps and characters.
