Xbox to host its own E3-style showcase in June

While Nintendo and Sony have both held game announcement streams this year already, the Xbox team has been very quiet on that front. Fortunately, that silence will be coming to an end soon, with Microsoft set to hold its own E3-style games showcase in June. 

With E3 now officially cancelled for the year, publishers are beginning to finalise their event plans for remainder of the year. According to games reporter, Jeff Grubb, Microsoft will have a show in June, not May as some previous rumours claimed. It will be an “E3-style show”, so expect major announcements.

What isn't immediately clear is if Microsoft will host one big show, or multiple shows to give more time to certain announcements. For instance, Starfield is launching this year, so it might be a good idea to give Bethesda its own spotlight, with other Xbox studios and third-party announcements being covered in another stream.

Geoff Keighley will also be hosting a Summer Games Fest stream in June, intended as a replacement for E3, and Gamescom will be happening in August, leaving plenty of other opportunities for additional announcements in the second half of the year.
