Dying Light 2 update adds New Game+ and more

After many years in development, Dying Light 2 finally released earlier this year to a mostly positive reception. As with the first game however, the team at Techland are not resting on their laurels, instead updating the game with quality of life improvements, new content and more.

Making the announcement on their official website, Techland detailed the many improvements added to Dying Light 2 with the game’s new 1.3.0 patch. Focusing primarily on “fixing a lot of co-op issues, and delivering completely new, endgame content awaited by the community,” this latest update brings with it dozens of changes, including:

  • New Game+ which offers revitalised mechanisms; new enemy behaviors; more difficult encounters; new objects within the world; and many more changes that will “significantly alter the gameplay style”
  • Co-op updates across the board, making for a much more stable and enjoyable multiplayer experience
  • Mutated Infected – New quest added ‘Something Big Has Been Here’, which includes special elemental Goon variants
  • Gameplay updates including tweaked grappling hook mechanics
  • Adding an FOV slider on PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X
  • MANY bug fixes

The full list of patch notes can be found HERE, showing the depth of care that the team at Techland are putting into Dying Light 2 following the game’s release. As mentioned, the team showed just as much support for the first game, ultimately pushing it to sell 20 million copies.

It will be interesting to see whether the sequel manages the same. Techland seems to be doing all the right things on their end, so we will have to simply wait and see.
