Ubisoft is bringing NFTs to new games

Earlier this week, Ubisoft announced that development on Ghost Recon Breakpoint has come to an end, meaning no more in-game content, or NFTs. This won't be the end of Ubisoft's NFT obsession though, as the publisher has already confirmed it will integrate NFTs with future games. 

Ubisoft Quartz, an NFT platform that allows players to claim NFTs after a certain number of in-game playtime hours, launched in December 2021 to huge controversy. There is also reason to believe that Ubisoft accrued a financial loss with its initial wave of NFTs. However, Ubisoft has stood by the decision and plans to continue integrating NFTs with future releases.

Ubisoft has not confirmed what new games will integrate with Quartz and reward NFTs, so they could potentially pop up for any upcoming Ubisoft game. Currently, Ubisoft has a number of F2P multiplayer shooters in the works, as well as a new Ghost Recon game. Ubisoft is also working on a live-service reimagining of the Assassin's Creed franchise called Assassin's Creed Infinity.

Ubisoft is expected to host a games showcase in June, during which we'll see new games announced, and get updates on long-awaited titles, like Prince of Persia Remake, Assassin's Creed Infinity, Skull & Bones, Beyond Good and Evil 2 and more.
