Asus unveils dual-fan RTX 3050 TUF Gaming graphics cards

Up to now, most TUF Gaming graphics cards from Asus have used a triple-fan design, but this can be overkill for lower TDP GPUs like the RTX 3050. With that in mind, the new RTX 3050 TUF Gaming has been redesigned with a dual-fan cooler.

Asus will be releasing two variants (OC and standard), both factory overclocked. However, as the name implies, the OC variant will come at a higher clock speed, with a listed boost clock of 1875MHz. Moreover, both cards feature dual-BIOS, allowing users to choose between a ‘Quiet' and a ‘Gaming' mode.

The shroud features the same aesthetics as the latest TUF Gaming cards, with a black and military look. On the side, there's an Asus Aura Sync RGB strip that users can freely customise to their liking. The two-fan cooling solution and the backplate are responsible for cooling the 2.8-inch tall heatsink, which should be enough to competently handle the RTX 3050 GPU.

The I/O bracket features 2x HDMI 2.1 interfaces and 3x DisplayPorts 1.4, allowing users to easily connect multiple monitors to it. A release date for the Asus TUF Gaming cards hasn't been announced yet, but they should arrive at retailers soon.

KitGuru says: Like the RTX 3050, Asus could also release an RTX 3060 TUF Gaming card with two fans. Besides the price reduction that would come with it compared to the three-fan model, it would also be a good solution for owners of compact PC cases.
