We're months away from the launch of Zen 4 and next-gen Ryzen desktop processors, but the current Ryzen 5000 series processors are still great options for a CPU upgrade. Currently, pricing for the high-end Ryzen 5000 series chips has dropped considerably too.
While reviewing the Ryzen 7 5800X3D recently, we made a note of current prices for the Ryzen 5800X and 5950X, versus the competition from Intel. Currently, the Core i7-12700K comes in at £380 and the Core i9-12900K is £550, meanwhile, we are seeing some very competitive prices for the top-end Ryzen chips.
At Overclockers UK currently, the 8-core Ryzen 7 5800X is down from £389.99 to £319.99, while the 12-core Ryzen 5900X has dropped from £529.99 to £359.99. Finally, the top-end, 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X is down from £730 to £499.99.
This follows on from the recent launch of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the first Ryzen processor with 3D Cache. Currently, that processor should cost around £410 in the UK.
