Over the past year, Netflix has been working towards offering streamable games through its service, and has even gone on a little acquisition spree, bringing on board several game studios. This year, Netflix will be ramping things up considerably, with plans to offer 50 games before the end of this year.
Currently, Netflix offers a small selection of casual mobile games, including the likes of Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, and Teeter Up. By the end of the year, the company is aiming to offer roughly 50 titles, as reported by The Washington Post.
One of the next big projects at Netflix will be a digital version of the Exploding Kittens card game, alongside an Exploding Kittens animated series. We will likely see more tie-in game spin-offs for other Netflix IP moving forward too.
Netflix will be working with third-party studios, as well as its own first-party teams at Next Games, Night School Studio and Boss Fight Entertainment for upcoming games. We don't know when the next batch of titles will become available, but we can expect more information soon.
