The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is coming this September

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be releasing this year, the game's publisher has confirmed. Developed by Daedalic Entertainment and published by Nacon, the game will put players in the shoes of Gollum and tasked with using stealth mechanics to survive in Middle-Earth.

Described as a Stealth-Action title, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be releasing on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC on the 1st of September 2022. A Nintendo Switch version of the game is also planned, but it won't be available at launch.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was first announced back in 2019 and will focus on Gollum's adventures trying to steal the One Ring. As you would expect, Gollum will have to wrestle with his multiple personalities throughout the game and there will be key decisions you'll have to make along the way. The new game description also gives us a tease of what to expect from the main story:

“After losing his precious ring to Bilbo Baggins, Gollum decides to leave the Misty Mountains and embarks on a perilous journey that leads him from the dungeons of Barad-dûr to the realm of the Wood-elves in Mirkwood. In order to survive the dangers on his journey through Middle-earth, Gollum has to sneak, climb and use all his cunning. He also has to deal with his more human side – Sméagol. It’s up to the players if they want Gollum to have the upper hand when it comes to making important decisions or let Sméagol take over. Gollum also encounters well-known characters from the books as well as a few new faces.”

The Lord of the Rings Gollum is currently set to release on the 1st of September. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: We're currently in a AAA drought, so if Gollum can meet its September release date, it has a good chance of making some noise ahead of the holiday season rush. Are any of you planning to pick this one up when it comes out?
