AOC’s latest AGON gaming monitor boasts 1440p resolution at 300Hz

AOC has a new AGON Pro monitor coming up this year, and it may be the company's best yet. The new AGON Pro AG274QS sports a Fast IPS panel with 1440p resolution and up to 300Hz refresh rate, making this one of the fastest desktop gaming monitors around.

The new monitor has a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with 1ms G2G response time and 600nits of peak brightness. As that number suggests, this display is DisplayHDR 600 certified. Other features include AMD FreeSync Premium, so you can use variable refresh rate to avoid screen-tearing and reduce stutter.

The Agon Pro AG274QS received a Red Dot Award thanks to its bezel-less design, customisable RGB effects via G-Menu software, and the logo projector below the monitor. AOC designed a matching metal stand that comes bundled with the monitor to complement its aesthetics, featuring height adjustment, tilt, swivel and pivot capabilities.

Connectivity options include four USB 3.2 ports, which should be enough to power most peripherals. There are also 2x 5W speakers with DTS sound and a built-in headset holder that users can utilise to declutter their setup. OSD settings can be adjusted through the QuickSwitch controller. AOC's new Agon Pro AG274QS will be available this month for £929.99.

KitGuru says: Considering its specifications, you'll need quite the powerful system to max out the 300Hz refresh rate. Are you looking to upgrade beyond 144Hz/165Hz to an ultra-high refresh rate display?
