Sony reveals new PS VR2 titles coming next year

Last night during State of Play, several new games for PlayStation VR2 were revealed. The next-gen headset will have a line-up of over 20 titles at launch in 2023, including an incredible looking game set in the Horizon universe.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain was the very first PS VR2 title that Sony announced. Set in the same universe as Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, Call of the Mountain will see players stepping into the virtual shoes of Ryas, a former Shadow Carja Warrior investigating a threat to the Sundom.

As we can see in the trailer, the game will feature iconic machines from the original Horizon games, a parkour and climbing system, and first-person archery. Somewhere along the way, players will bump into Aloy, so the story will tie into previous games in some way.

Aside from Call of the Mountain, last night we got new announcements for The Walking Dead: Sinners and Saints – Chapter 2: Retribution, which is heading to PS VR2 in 2023, after its initial release later this year. Resident Evil Village will be fully playable on PS VR2, just like Resident Evil 7 on the original PSVR headset. Finally, Resident Evil 4 Remake will also include PS VR2 content when it releases next year.

KitGuru Says: It is difficult to judge VR graphics from direct-capture, versus seeing it in-headset, but so far, Call of the Mountain looks incredible and could well be the most graphically impressive VR title to date.
