Fans of The Witcher series have been awaiting any news about the next game in the franchise. Following the conclusion of Geralt's narrative in The Witcher 3 and its DLC, the return of the renowned monster slayer seemed inevitable, and the recent confirmation of Doug Cockle, the voice actor behind Geralt, seems to confirm it.
In an interview with Doug Cockle led by Full Damage (via PCGamer), the voice of Geralt in the Witcher games said he'll continue to reprise the role of the White Wolf in the upcoming game, currently in development over at CD Projekt Red. Geralt will be a part of the cast of characters of the new title, but it won't be the lead in this one. Unfortunately, Cockle doesn't seem to know who the main character is, so that's something we'll have to wait a bit more to learn.
While it was widely anticipated that Geralt would return, the exact nature of his role in The Witcher 4 remains uncertain. With CD Projekt Red hinting at Geralt's potential return even before the release of The Witcher 3, there's been some speculation about the character's future in the series. Given the multiple endings and DLC of The Witcher 3, many fans predict that Geralt may take on a mentor role for Ciri, potentially paving the way for her to become the central character in the next entry.
The Witcher 4's release date is still far off, but we expect it to come before the remake of the original game.
