Corsair decided to shift from 80 Plus certification to Cybenetics' certifications for efficiency and noise in its PSUs. Alongside the announcement, Corsair briefly explained the comprehensive Cybenetics certification system and shared the certifications earned by their current PSU line-up.
Cybenetics certification represents a significant advancement in evaluating PSU performance compared to its predecessor. While still using the familiar Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium tier system for efficiency ratings, Cybenetics testing is more thorough and detailed than 80 Plus, resulting in more accurate and reliable assessments. Below, you can see the Cybenetics certifications of Corsair's current lineup of PSUs:
One of the advantages of Cybenetics certification lies in how it evaluates PSU performance. This includes providing a complete efficiency profile across various loads, environments, and operational scenarios, offering a more realistic representation of real-world power consumption. Additionally, Cybenetics incorporates a noise certification, categorising PSUs based on their acoustic performance.
Cybenetics' testing methodology generates many data points across all loads, making it more reliable than the 80 Plus testing process. This increased granularity enables consumers to make more informed decisions when selecting a PSU that aligns with their requirements for efficiency and noise.
