Yesterday KitGuru reviewed the new Zen 5 Ryzen 5 9600X and today it’s the turn of Ryzen 7 9700X. Both the six-core and eight-part have a TDP of a mere 65W and that takes us into new territory and makes us wonder just how well the new Ryzen 7 will perform.

Pros:
- The operating temperature is great on Auto settings.
- 65W TDP and 88W Socket power are amazingly low.
- The launch of Zen 5 means Ryzen 7 7700X is really cheap.
Cons:
- Gaming performance is on par with Ryzen 7 7700X.
- Gamers should wait for the inevitable Ryzen 7 9800X3D before making a decision.
- The lower clock speeds of Zen 5 look peculiar compared to Zen 4.
KitGuru says: Ryzen 7 9700X has had a rocky reception but KitGuru is holding faith with this low power jewel in the rough.
