Saints Row: Boss Factory Demo released

The Saints Row reboot has so far been met with a somewhat mixed reception, with some fearing that the new direction the game is taking moves it too far away from what makes a Saints Row game. Ahead of its launch on the 23rd of August the team at Deep Silver are giving all fans a taste of the game with the Saints Row: Boss Factory demo now available.

Announced during the Summer Game Fest Showcase, the Saints Row: Boss Factory demo is available to download for free right now on PlayStation, Xbox and PC via the Epic Games Store and offers just a small, yet significant slice of the game – namely the character creator.

Available as a standalone download, Boss Factory allows you to (as described by Deep Silver) “Create the best Boss in history – your Boss, with our (not blowing our own trumpet here but…) pretty damn impressive character customisation.”

The character creator certainly offers more options than many games, and with Saints Row’s history, plenty of out-there items and points of customisation are available. That being said, when it comes to clothing, Deep Silver claimed to be holding back, saying “here is a percentage of the clothing, shoes, socks and accessories available. We wouldn’t want to spoil the fun of earning and discovering items by giving you everything right now would we?”

One of the best ways to market a game is by putting it in the hands of customers. Releasing this standalone character creator which can then be imported into the final game is a smart way for potential fans to get a taste of what makes Saints Row unique. The character customisation certainly looks more extensive than Cyberpunk 2077 at least.
