Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is regarded by fans as one of the best Star Wars games of all time and we've been hoping for a return to the series for quite some time. Last year, Aspyr Media confirmed it is working on a remake, and now, it seems that Saber Interactive will be helping out on the project too.
Aspyr has plenty of experience with the Star Wars IP, having ported classic titles, including KOTOR, to mobile platforms. Since then, Aspyr has expanded and secured funding for a full remake for Knights of the Old Republic. As revealed by Embracer Group during a recent earnings call, Aspyr will now have assistance from Saber Interactive.
Both Aspyr and Saber Interactive have been acquired by Embracer Group in recent years. As Embracer's Matthew Karch puts it, once the company acquired Aspyr, they knew that they could provide assistance and additional development resources for the upcoming KOTOR remake. Saber Interactive has some extra hands on deck at the moment too, as The Witcher 3's upcoming next-gen update recently switched from Saber to CD Projekt Red's own in-house team.
Currently, Knights of the Old Republic Remake has only been announced for PS5 as part of a timed exclusivity deal with Sony. That deal only applies to the game on console though, so while the remake might not head to Xbox until later down the line, it should come to PC at the same time as PS5.

KitGuru Says: The KOTOR Remake was announced very early, so it is going to be a while longer before we see the game in action. Are many of you looking forward to the remake?
