This week, rumours of a new Nvidia GeForce graphics card began doing the rounds, claiming that a GTX 1630 would be launching soon. We didn't have much more information at the time, but just one day later, we have news on specifications and release date.
According to VideoCardz, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630 will be using the TU117-150 GPU based on the 12nm process node. The chip will pack 512 CUDA cores clocked at 1800MHz. Compared to the GTX 1650, there are fewer cores, but the clock speeds are higher, which might explain why TDP is still 75W.
For the memory subsystem, we have 4GB of GDDR6 memory at 12Gbps across a 64-bit memory bus, which results in a maximum bandwidth of 96GB/s.
As for the card's release date, it should be as soon as May 31st, but given that this is an entry-level GTX-series launch, we don't expect Nvidia to make much noise about it. Instead, the company will likely focus on new and upcoming GPU architectures during its Computex keynote next week.
