Each week, the Epic Games Store offers a game or two for free to all those with an Epic Games account. Following last week’s offering of Borderlands 3, Epic Games is now giving away the entire BioShock Collection.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Epic Games Store account said “It's time to return to the cities of Rapture & Columbia, and experience the award-winning @Bioshock franchise in full. That’s right… the Vault has opened again and this week, you can claim BioShock: The Collection on the Epic Games Store for FREE!”
The BioShock Collection takes all the released BioShock games and their DLC and puts it into one convenient and remastered package. For the uninitiated, BioShock 1 and 2 are first person shooters with a focus on exploration, thriller, and unique special powers. BioShock Infinite shares much of its DNA with the previous games, however did choose to focus more on the action side of things when compared to the much slower and deliberate pace of the first 2 games.
Regardless of your preferred genre, all three BioShock games and their DLC are worth playing – and getting three games and their DLC for the price of free is certainly a bargain. As with last week, the upcoming free Epic Games Store title set to replace The BioShock Collection next week has not been revealed, suggesting that it likewise will be a bigger game than is offered on typical weeks.
The past two offerings have both been 2K published games, begging the question as to who the publisher of next week’s free game will be. We will have to wait and see, but in the meantime The BioShock Collection is available to purchase and download for free from now until the 2nd of June.
