Capcom has been quiet on what's next for Resident Evil following the release of Village and RE3 Remake, but that changed last night during State of Play. Not only is Resident Evil Village heading to PS VR2, but Resident Evil 4 Remake has been officially announced with a March release date.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is launching on for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on the 24th of March 2023. The game will also support PS VR2 in some form, but we don't have specific details just yet. This indicates that Sony's next-gen VR headset will be launching towards the end of Q1 (calendar year) 2023.
We've known about Resident Evil 4 Remake for a while already thanks to several leaks. The project was once in development at Capcom's M-Two studio, but the project was later taken over by Capcom Division 1, the studio responsible for the mainline Resident Evil games.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will feature a reimagined storyline and completely overhauled graphics, bringing the 2005 horror classic up to modern standards of graphical fidelity and fluidity.
