Apple M2-powered 16-inch MacBook Pro and iPad Pro on the way

Apple launched its next-generation M2 processor earlier this week, alongside a new MacBook Air and a 13-inch MacBook Pro featuring the chip. Before the end of the year, we should see even more M2-powered devices from Apple, including bigger MacBook Pro models, and a new iPad Pro.

According to Bloomberg, new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros should ship in late 2022 featuring a new M2 Max chip, expanding the CPU from eight-cores to up to twelve-cores and increasing the number of GPU cores up to 38.

As for the standard M2 processor, we'll see that in the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air and soon, a new iPad Pro. According to supply chain consultant, Ross Young, a new 14-inch iPad Pro with a Mini-LED display is on the way. This new iPad Pro should replace the current-gen M1-powered iPad Pro.

Apple typically announces new Macs and iPads during October, during an event roughly one month after the annual September iPhone launch. With that in mind, much of this should be made official then.
