Goat Simulator 3 announced

Goat Simulator launched all the way back in 2014 on April Fool’s Day after being initially developed as a joke. Marketed for its litany of bugs, glitches and funny interactions, Goat Simulator managed to stand out from the tribe with its balance of objective-focused gameplay and open sandbox-ness. After more than 8 years, a sequel has been announced: Goat Simulator 3???

Goat Simulator was one of the earliest games of the wacky physics genre to go viral. This was thanks to a number of factors – but primarily due to its absurdity. Announced in a tongue-in-cheek manner, Goat Simulator 3’s trailer parodied the E3 2014 trailer for Dead Island 2, a game which still has yet to release.

Addressing the elephant in the room: No, there isn’t a Goat Simulator 2. This is possibly another reference to Dead island 2, which is in fact the 3rd game in the franchise following Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide.

It’s safe to say that not many people expected to see another Goat Simulator game, especially after such a long time. It will be interesting to see whether the game’s style of humour manages to feel fresh when it launches in ‘Fall’ 2022 for PlayStation, Xbox and the Epic Games Store.

KitGuru says: Did you find the trailer amusing? Are you surprised to see a sequel? Do you think Goat Simulator will be able to catch lightning in a bottle twice? Let us know down below.
