Towards the end of the Xbox and Bethesda showcase last night, Phil Spencer took to the stage to reveal a few partnerships Xbox has been brewing with Japanese studios. Aside from a new project with Hideo Kojima and bringing the Persona series to Xbox, Microsoft has also secured a new partnership with Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo, which will see Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty launching on Xbox Game Pass.
The publisher didn't share any gameplay footage but considering Fumihiko Yasuda (Nioh) and Masaaki Yamagiwa (Bloodborne) are behind the project, we believe it will feature souls-like combat and challenging, giant boss fights.
The game is described as a “dramatic, action-packed story”, where you play as a nameless militia soldier struggling to survive in a world filled with demons, set during the reign of the Han Dynasty in China. Here, you'll fight using Chinese martial arts to defeat your foes.
The game will launch in 2023 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass subscribers will be able to play it on day one. The game will also be available via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
