AMD Ryzen 7000 ‘Phoenix Point’ processor leaks via benchmark

AMD only just recently began talking about its upcoming Ryzen 7000 processors, but leaks are already starting to flood in. AMD's upcoming ‘Phoenix Point' mobile processors are already appearing in benchmark databases, giving us an early look at specs and performance. 

The benchmark entry found by Benchleaks shows an engineering sample of an AMD chip with the OPN code of 100-000000709-23_N. Such code has never been seen on any benchmark database. However, besides the code, there's also information regarding its family (25), model (112), and stepping (0). This information seems to match the A70F00 code associated with the Phoenix Point series, reportedly based on the FP8 socket. Moreover, this is also the first time we have seen a ‘709' code on an engineering sample.

As per the entry, this AMD CPU has 8x cores and 16x threads (“Numbers of processors: 16”), which we believe to be the maximum core count for the mobile series. Besides Phoenix Point, AMD is also preparing another product line for high-end mobile systems to rival Intel HX chips –  ‘Dragon Range'. As such, this series should have a higher core count, possibly up to 16C/32T.

AMD Phoenix Point is expected to debut in Q1 2023. From what we know, it will be based on the Zen 4 architecture (4nm) and use RDNA 3 integrated graphics.
