Back in April of this year, the former Xbox console exclusive ‘Grounded’ from the team at Obsidian Entertainment was released on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch – marking one of the 4 initial Xbox games which were promised to come to other systems. The multi-platform release arrived alongside a pretty major update. That said, Grounded on PS5 and Switch have now gotten a few additional unique features not found on Xbox.
Patch 1.4.4 has now been released for Grounded, bringing a decent number of changes and additions to the survival crafting game, including but not limited to:
- Reduced the damage multiplier all creatures get in New Game+ by 33%
- Reduced CPU usage
- Microsoft accounts are no longer permanently linked. You can logout and log into a new Microsoft account as many times as you want
- Multiple crash and bug fixes
By far the most interesting additions however are unique to Sony and Nintendo’s consoles, with the latter now seeing support for gyro aiming, and the former getting official Adaptive Trigger support.
Unlike both Sony and Nintendo, Microsoft’s Xbox controllers are relatively simplistic pieces of hardware, missing contemporary functions such as advanced haptics; a gyroscope; speaker; microphone and more. As such, despite the disparity between systems, it is encouraging to see Xbox studios implementing these console-specific features. The full patch notes can be found HERE.
