BioWare is set to drop the official release date trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard in just a few hours time but the news leaked out a little early. We'll finally return to BioWare's dormant fantasy setting on the 31st of October.
The trailer, which is due to go live at 5PM in the UK, will offer us our latest look at the game in action. The trailer will end with confirmation that the game is releasing on the 31st of October 2024, for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The trailer isn't live yet, so I can't offer much in the way of analysis but I'll be back in a few hours to update this page once the trailer has gone live.
So what do we know about Dragon Age: The Veilguard so far? Well, the story will follow on from 2014's Game of the Year, Dragon Age Inquisition, with your former party member, Solas, taking on the role of the villain, having switched sides and betrayed humanity. There have been a number of gameplay changes to make the game more action-focused, rather than tactical, or the MMO-style combat found in Inquisition.
Those who have not caught up on the Dragon Age series needn't worry, as the game will release with a story catch-up. Those that did play through Inquisition will be able to input the key choices they made, which will change portions of the game – similarly to how The Witcher 3 handled the gap between The Witcher 2 and its sequel.
