MSI launches first 4K curved gaming monitor with dual-mode

MSI is jumping on the dual-mode monitor bandwagon with the MAG 321CUPDF. This 31.5-inch curved 4K gaming display offers the best of both worlds: high resolution for improved visuals and ultra-fast refresh rates for competitive gaming.

Dual-mode monitors are quickly gaining traction in gaming, allowing users to switch between refresh rates and resolutions depending on their needs. While we've seen this technology in a handful of displays and even laptops like the Razer Blade 16, the new MSI MAG 321CUPDF (MSI's Vietnamese website via VideoCardz)) stands out as the first curved 4K monitor to offer this.

This display can run at a native 4K resolution with a 160 Hz refresh rate for immersive gaming and stunning visuals. However, for those who prefer faster refresh rates, there's an alternate mode to switch to, enabling a 1080p resolution and a 320 Hz refresh rate. This capability requires choosing between a high-resolution display or a high-refresh-rate panel. The MAG 321CUPDF combines both into a single and versatile package.

MSI has opted for a “Rapid VA” panel for this monitor, offering a 0.5 ms GtG response time, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and a claimed brightness of 450 nits. It also boasts DisplayHDR 400 certification and covers 97% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Connectivity options include a DisplayPort 1.4a input, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB-C port with 15W power delivery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Kensington Lock slot. The MAG 321CUPDF is currently available in China for RMB 2,999 (approximately £325).

KitGuru says: With its dual-mode refresh rate technology, curved 4K display, and impressive specifications, the MSI MAG 321CUPDF is a compelling option for gamers who want the best of both worlds.
