Ubisoft delays The Division Resurgence and Rainbow Six Mobile

While Ubisoft has proclaimed zero plans to delay Star Wars Outlaws after a botched IGN gameplay reveal, the publisher is quietly delaying some of its other projects. The upcoming releases of Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are the latest in-development projects to be affected.

As part of its latest quarterly financial report, Ubisoft has stated that while Assassin's Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws are still on schedule to release in FY25, Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are no longer expected to release this fiscal year. That means we could be waiting until April 2025 or beyond to see these games finally hit the market.

Ubisoft says that its teams are “taking the necessary time to ensure that these experiences deliver on expectations with optimised KPIs (key performance indicators) in the context of a demanding yet very large market”.

Both of these games are part of Ubisoft's push to free-to-play titles to help bolster revenues between marquee releases like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. This year, Ubisoft has begun benefitting from revenues brought in by XDefiant, which finally launched in May after months of delays.

KitGuru Says: The Division Resurgence has been in development for years and has already had a good number of playtests so seeing another delay is disappointing. At this rate, Ubisoft Massive will have The Division 3 well into development before it releases, despite being announced years after.
