Techland officially announced Dying Light: The Beast at Gamescom earlier this year but last week, a new trailer officially dropped, giving us a new look at the game.
Dying Light: The Beast was originally planned to be an expansion for Dying Light 2 but eventually evolved into its own standalone game. The title will bring about the return of Kyle Crane, the main protagonist from the first Dying Light game.
In this new trailer we meet the game's main antagonist, The Baron. He is a cold and calculated scientist who has been experimenting with different strains of the zombie virus, often using human subjects for experiments. Kyle Crane was one such human experimented on, granting him with new powers.
In Dying Light: The Beast, you will be put back in the shoes of Kyle Crane, who is grappling with his new abilities and on a hunt to take out the scientist responsible. The standalone game will be roughly 20 hours long, but thanks to co-op and sandbox elements, including the return of vehicles, players will have plenty more to do outside of the main story campaign.
Dying Light: The Beast is due to release in 2025.
