Playground Games' Fable reboot has been in the works for five years now, but there is still a long way to go before we finally see the game in action. It seems the game could be in for some more behind-the-scenes changes, as the game now has a new lead narrative lead.
Anna Megill, formerly known for her work on games like Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Control, Guild Wars 2 and even Ubisoft's upcoming Avatar game, has now joined Playground to work on the next chapter of Fable.
We've seen little more than a CG logo trailer so far, but previous rumours have claimed a 2023 to 2024 release window for Fable.
Fable began life back in the early 2000s as an original Xbox game. The series continued on strong into the Xbox 360 era with Fable 2, but the series then went on a bit of a downward trend, with Fable 3, a Kinect spin-off and a cancelled co-op dungeon crawler game. The Fable reboot will mark ‘a new beginning' for the franchise when it does eventually arrive.

KitGuru Says: While many of us hoped Fable would be an early exclusive in the Series X/S generation, all signs point to the game being at least a couple of years away.
