Job listing suggests Bungie is working on a competitive Destiny game

Bungie has found great success with their Destiny IP, offering a live service title with excellent first person gameplay and consistent content updates. That being said, Destiny’s PvP has always been lacking, with focus clearly put on the game’s co-op experiences. According to a new job listing however, Bungie might be working on a new competitive Destiny title,

As reported by TheGamePost, Bungie recently added a job listing online for a Senior Concept Artist, whose role will involve “[working] closely with the Art Director and Art Leads to work on an exciting new title!”

While the listing makes sure to let it be known that this game is a new title and not simply a Destiny 2 expansion, we do know that this game will be set in the Destiny universe, as one of the listed responsibilities is to “continually push aesthetics of the Destiny universe.”

In the ‘nice-to-have’ section, Bungie is requesting the potential employee to have “experience with and love of competitive games” – suggesting that this title may have a greater competitive focus when compared to Destiny 2 (which as mentioned is clearly more PvE based).

Esports is a huge market with so much more potential for growth, especially in the first person shooter genre. Regardless of what this title ends up being, hopefully it was concepted independently of the influence of parent company Sony – especially as the console manufacturer has invested heavily in eSports financially.
